About Me
YuliHi, my name is Yuliany Halim, but people call me Yuli. I was born in Jakarta, on July 20, 1978. I spent my first 23 years in Indonesia. I spent 14 years in Ricci Catholic School, Jakarta from kindergarten until high school (thank God they don't have university) J.

Education
When I was in elementary and middle school, I did not really have many friends; I was a quiet and shy little girl. However, when I was in High school lots of things changed. I started to have lots of friends and I hung out with them all the time. In the second year of high school, I was in the cheerleader team. We participated in competition but unfortunately we didn't win. But that's ok because we really had a lot of fun those days. I graduated from high school in 1996. I was kind of sad because I had to leave my friends for college. I thought I would never have such a fun crowd again in college but I was wrong.

Out of many universities in Jakarta, I chose Pelita Harapan because of several ridiculous reasons. First, my two best friends were also going there. Second, I hate the traffic in Jakarta. Third, when I visited the campus, I just knew that I wanted to go there. Fourth, it allowed me not to stay at home, because the campus is kind of far J.

I started my undergraduate studies in 1996. My major was management. I like Pelita Harapan campus a lot, because it is not in the middle of a busy city, people are friendly, and the professors are very helpful (Ok, enough of the promotion :P). I completed my undergraduate degree with 3.75/4.00 GPA, focusing in Marketing and Finance.

While I was doing my thesis, I got a job in a securities company. I was there only for two months, because I did not like it. The next day after I quit, I started another job in a petrochemical company; I worked there for five months. I quit my job because I decided to pursue my MBA.

Coming to America
I came to the United States to study at San Francisco State University, pursuing my MSBA (Master of Science in Business Administration) in accounting. I was planning to take the CPA exam and be an accountant someday in the future. J

Since I moved here, I have been going to church at the Indonesian Baptist Church, where I met the love of my life, Kristian! I also accepted Jesus Christ as my Savior on August 29th, 2001, and I am just so thankful to God for everything He has done in my life. Kristian proposed to me on March 29th, 2002 on top of Mount Tamalpais. Shortly thereafter, I was baptized on June 9th, 2002!

Engagement and Marriage
To celebrate the wonderful event of engagement, we held an engagement party in Jakarta on August 3rd, 2002. A whopping 600 people came to this party, which was held at Hotel Borobudur. I am very thankful for my mom to make this party a reality.

Just 2 weeks later, on the beautiful day of August 18th, Kristian and I got married in Palo Alto, California. The wedding ceremony was fabulous and a lot of our friends and family came. After the wedding, we went for honeymoon in Hawaii to enjoy the exotic islands of Oahu and Maui.

Parenthood
After being married for about 5 months, we found out that I was pregnant! This marked the beginning of an incredible journey called "Parenthood". I praise God for giving me a fairly smooth pregnancy. On September 8th, 2004, our son, Joshua Sebastian Widjaja, was born in Sequoia hospital, Redwood City, California.

Ever since his birth, life as we knew it has not been the same anymore. We now have a wonderful cute little baby Joshua, but he also requires a lot of care, love, and attention. After 2 months of exhaustion, we finally managed to establish a routine to care for Joshua with more sanity.

Joshua is now almost 1 year old. He crawls, stands, and spoke his first word "Mama".

Graduation
After working on my thesis for several semesters, while juggling pregnancy and taking care of Joshua, I finally finished it in May and I graduated on May 28th, 2004. It was a great relief to get this all done and to complete my degree.

I am not sure how the future will pan out, but I am sure that God has a good plan for me.
